The «Sennhütte Ottenschwand» Mountain hut has been rented out as a place for camps and group holidays for over 30 years. The «Sennhütte Ottenschwand» Mountain hut is located in the Diemtigtal at an altitude of almost 1600 metres.
The simply built hut offers space for up to 26 people. The hut is heated and cooked with wood. Experience the romance of the hut and pure nature, a safe environment for children, a view of the Stockhorn mountain range and a dreamlike starry sky.
Ruth Wittwer (hut warden) can be reached most easily by mobile phone. Please call at least one day before arrival to arrange the place and time of handing over the keys.
Pillowcases, kitchen linen and refuse sacks (subject to charge) can also be obtained from her.

Arrival and departure by arrangement.
By car:
Motorway A6 Bern direction Zweisimmen, 1 km after the Simmenfluh tunnel turn left direction to Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtal road into the valley for 8 km until Horboden. Turn left here and follow the signs for «Springenboden» (6 km).
Buy a permit to use the private road at the Gsässweid restaurant.
In summer you can drive to the Mountain hut, in winter you leave your car at the Restaurant Gsässweid (please contact the Gsässweid for parking) and walk the rest of the way.

By train and PostBus (public transport):
Oey-Diemtigen (Spiez-Zweisimmen line).
Continue by PostBus to the «Horboden, Chirel» stop. From here the hut can be reached on foot (2 h 10 min.).
Allow more time in winter (rucksack is recommended). A road for forestry and agriculture leads up to the hut.
