In the hectic pre-Christmas period, the forest cot offers you a place to find peace and quiet and lets you become aware of the significance of the Advent season. The walk from Oey market square to the forest crèche takes about 15 minutes.
The forest cot is at its most beautiful when it gets dark. Our tip, so that you can reach it easily: take a headlamp, torch or lantern with you. The path to the forest cot is not illuminated; there is no winter service on the path.

The Diemtigtaler Waldkrippe is a project of the Friends of the Diemtigtal Regional Nature Park Association and was created with the cooperation of the association members and the Diemtigtal School, Oey site.
Path conditions
Due to the change of warm and cold temperatures, the path along the valley hiking trail is slippery in some places. Remember to wear good shoes.
As an alternative, the crib can also be reached in five minutes on foot from the Katzenloch Bridge.
Opening of the Forest Crib
The lighting of the Forest Crib will be switched on at the beginning of December. All interested parties are welcome to attend the opening. We will meet at 4.30 pm directly at the forest crib. Date 2025 to be announced.

Motorway A6 Bern direction Zweisimmen, 1 km after the Simmenfluh tunnel turn left direction to Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtalstrasse into the valley for 4 km to the village of Oey. 200 m after the level crossing turn right to «Marktplatz». From here you walk along the valley hiking trail for about 15 minutes to the forest crib at the Katzenloch fireplace (trail is not lit and maintained). Alternative short access from Katzenlochbrücke (car park).
Train, bus & co.:
By train to Oey-Diemtigen station (Spiez-Zweisimmen line). From here it is a ten-minute walk to the market square (Marktplatz) and thus the path to the forest crib at the Katzenloch fireplace (hike from the market square to the fireplace approx. 15 min.).
