Walk out of the valley with your family along the Valley Hiking Trail and the river Fildrich. Do you know our water playground? A stop here for the little explorers is almost obligatory.

The walk starts at Senggiweid and takes you first to the idyllic lake «Blauseeli». Follow the valley hiking trail through the village of Schwenden to Tiermatti. Here you will reach another highlight: on the grounds of the «Gwunderwasser» water playground, young and old can play, splash and dam up to their heart's content. By diverting streams and freeing them again, children experience the natural dynamics of water and are encouraged to experiment creatively with the precious water using the available water play equipment and channel systems.

The last part of your tour leads through the cool forest to the Anger cattle showground. Did you know that during the autumn cattle show, more than 200 animals are presented and exhibited here?

Directions

The trail leads you from Senggiweid along the valley hiking trail to the village of Schwenden and on via Seeboden to Tiermatti, where you will also find the water playground. Continue to the destination of your walk at the Anger cattle showground.

If you have travelled by car, walk back the same way or return to the starting point by post bus from the «Anger» stop (note the timetable). The final stop «Grimmialp» is a short walk from the Senggiweid car park.

Public transport travellers return directly from the stop «Anger» to Oey-Diemtigen railway station (note timetable).

Shortcut option:
If you wish, you can shorten the tour by 30 minutes and return by post bus from the stop «Tiermatti» to the starting point or directly to Oey-Diemtigen railway station (note timetable).

Equipment

Our recommendation: Cervelat sausages and more for a cosy barbecue and a change of clothes – no one is likely to stay dry during a visit to the water playground

Directions & Parking facilities

Motorway A6 Bern direction Zweisimmen, 1 km after the Simmenfluhtunnel turn left direction Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtal road into the valley for 19 km in the direction of Schwenden, Grimmialp.
Paid parking is available directly at the starting point.
By train to Oey-Diemtigen. Then by post bus to the stop «Schwenden i.D., Grimmialp» (terminus). From here a short walk (approx. 5 min.) in the direction of Grimmimutz adventure trail to the starting point Senggiweid.

For the journey home we recommend the post bus stop «Anger».
