Wood is an environmentally friendly and regional raw material for building. Before wood becomes a house or product, it goes through many steps - from felling in the forest to processing. The Swiss Wood Days will take place in the Diemtigtal Nature Park on 12 September 2025. You and your school class will gain exciting insights into the world of wood processing.
Several companies from the region will be taking part: They show what they do and how they work. You and your school class are invited to familiarise yourselves with the various stages of wood processing, from working in the forest to the finished product. You can see machines in action and exchange ideas with vocational trainers and apprentices.
Free guided tour for your school class in the Portwald forest on 12 September 2025
We invite you to a free, 1.5-hour guided tour. Forester Kyra Pauli (Diemtigtal forest district) and forester Rolf Dummermuth (Thunersee-Süd forestry operation) will guide you through a felling site from last year. Sustainable tree species were planted in this flat area this spring.
