On the «Hintermenigen» alpine farm, Mutsch (full-fat semi-hard cheese made from raw milk) and alp cheese is made and sold to guests from mid-June to mid-August. Watch the cheese production as the curds are cut and the cheese is lifted out of the «Chessi» onto the press. Cheese making takes place from 9 am to 12 pm each day. Are you interested? Motorway A6 Bern direction Zweisimmen, 1 km after the Simmenfluh tunnel turn left direction to Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtalstrasse into the valley for 11 km until Zwischenflüh Post/Bakery. From here on the road is subject to tolls (Fr. 10), please buy a permit at the ticket machine. Turn right and follow the sign «Seebergsee» for 3.5 km. At the junction «Gestelen» stay left on the Seebergsee road, after 300 metres turn left. Shortly afterwards you will reach the «Hintermenigen» alpine farm.
Train, bus & co:
Take the train to Oey-Diemtigen station (Spiez-Zweisimmen line). Continue by PostBus to the stop «Zwischenflüh, Anger». From here the «Menigwald« Alp can be reached on foot (approx. 10 km, hiking time 2.5 hours).
