Watching the alpine farmers at their daily work is fascinating, because the production of cheese requires a lot of experience and intuition. Different types of cheese and butter are made on the cattle alp and also sold right on the alp. Supplies at home are also taken care of: the Knutti family also sends their cheese vacuum-packed by post.
The «Rinderalp» mountain hut is also suitable for groups of up to 60 people. Cheese dairy tours take place from mid-June to the end of August from 8.30 a.m. to 12 p.m. We recommend that you book early.

Motorway A6 Bern direction Zweisimmen, 1 km after the Simmenfluh tunnel turn left direction to Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtal road into the valley for 11 km until you reach the former Zwischenflüh post office. There is a machine where you can buy your road permit. Turn right here and follow the signs to «Rinderalp». As soon as you are on the natural road, keep left. Rinderalp is at the end of the drivable road.
Train, Bus & Co:
Take the train to Oey-Diemtigen station (Spiez-Zweisimmen line). Continue by PostBus to the «Zwischenflüh, Seebergstrasse» stop. From here Alp Rinderalp can be reached on foot (approx. 8 km, hiking time 1 h 45 min.).
